Robustness & Fault Tolerance: LuxSci uses multiple levels of email to protect you from mass-emailing viruses & worms and to off-load the effort of email filtering. We also perform daily on-site backups and weekly off-site backups, and use SCSI RAID-5 disk subsystems and redundant power supplies in our servers to protect your critical data against hardware issues.

LuxSci recognizes the importance of user collaboration using email, address books, calendars, documents, and other data. We provide a robust collaborative environment for our clients and an alternative for Exchange-based services. Some of our available collaborative features include:

The HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) defines email compliance as "securing patient records containing individually identifiable health information so that they are not readily available to those who do not need them". It does not specify what technologies must be used to do this, leaving that decision up to the individual health care organizations.

To insure the integrity of your data, LuxSci performs nightly backups of all your data to machines in the same data center as your servers. Furthermore, LuxSci performs archived weekly backups of all your data to machines located in a geographically distant location. Your weekly archives are kept for one month, longer if needed for dedicated-server clients.

Your account can have data restored from backup once per month at no additional cost. Unused restores accumulate from month to month as credits towards your future restore needs.

LuxSci also provides other email backup and archival features that you can use to implement your own additional backups.
