LuxSci now allows users to login to its WebMail, Affiliate, and SecureSend portals using an OpenID. This feature can make logins faster, simpler, and even more secure by:
The LuxSci Software Platform allows organizations to run LuxSci’s software on their own servers, in their own data center(s), supported by their own staff. This is very flexible and cost effective and used by ISPs and other organizations with moderate to large numbers of users. LuxSci has just released a "Support API" for such organizations so that many of the standard support tasks can be automated or controlled by external systems.
After many requests, LuxSci has added a new action to its custom email filtering tools. This action allows you to strip all attachments from messages matching your specific criteria. You can do this in one of two ways:
We recently talked about the problems created by backscatter or bounce back spam. I.e. the pain caused by getting lots of "delivery failure" messages for messages that you never sent, but which arrive at your door anyway. One of the solutions we have provided for dealing with backscatter, if you have this problem, is to create a custom email filter in your LuxSci WebMail interface that will delete or save all bounce messages. While this works well, it also has a drawback.
LuxSci has re-written its web-based task management interface from the ground up to provide users with a fast, modern, featureful experience. The WebAides Tasks user interface now matches that of WebMail, Address Books, and Calendars in AJAX-based Web 2.0 speed, data caching, and usability. The major changes that come along with these user interface enhancements include:
LuxSci has released several improvements to its WebMail and WebAides user interfaces that add to your productivity and are more user friendly and powerful. The most significant changes include:
LuxSci has had many requests for a feature where account administrators can restrict users to a well-defined set of email recipients. This is very useful, for example, when setting up email for a specific purpose such as internal communications within a business or association, or in an educational or home setting to control where email is sent by minors.
LuxSci has supported the specification and use of unlimited signatures (i.e. personalities) in WebMail for many years. LuxSci’s signatures allow you to customize the from and reply addresses, as well as to add text or HTML "signature" content to your email messages.
As a result of many client feature requests, LuxSci has made some significant usability and functionality improvements to its WebMail Signatures. These include:
In keeping with the recent improvements to our WebAide Address Books and Calendars, LuxSci is pleased to announce the release of the latest version of its WebAideSynch plugin for Microsoft Outlook. This version addresses several stability issues and bugs and also includes more robust support for entries containing content in most languages.
One of our most requested features of late has been to support the "auto-completion" of email addresses when users are entering To, Cc, and Bcc addresses into email messages. While LuxSci has always had an address "picker" where users could choose addresses from their address books via a small pop-up window, that required a click to activate, some effort to search for the addresses, and then a click to close.
Users really wanted suggestions from their address books automatically presented to them, as happens in most modern email programs such as Outlook and Thunderbird, in a way that doesn’t require them to click or "do anything" and where selecting from the list could be as easy as pressing a single key.
